Enneagram

The Enneagram symbol is a circle with nine points connected in a distinctive pattern of intersecting lines. It is an ancient symbol that describes a path of self-development. Within each Type are healthy, average, and unhealthy patterns, and no one Type is better than any other.

An easy way to begin a personal exploration of the Enneagram is to take a short, inexpensive questionnaire.

Since 1990 Belinda has been a dedicated student of the Enneagram and in 2000 established The Enneagram Institute of Central Ohio.  She is an Accredited Professional with the International Enneagram Association and was trained and certified by Don Riso and Russ Hudson. As senior faculty for the Deep Coaching Institute, Belinda provides training for professional coaches, therapists and allied growth-oriented practitioners to integrate the power of the Enneagram into their practices.

Object Relations and the Enneagram

WHY do Enneagram types patterns show up behaviorally in the ways they do?

One answer is grounded in Object Relations theory, focusing on the development of the personality in early childhood.  The theory is based on key relationships and how those interactions structure a sense of self and our worldview.  Don Riso and Russ Hudson had become students of the Diamond Approach when they developed the foundational teaching of Object Relations and the Enneagram.  I realized the importance of Object Relations after I became a Diamond Approach student with Sandra Maitri and started looking at my own patterns.  My personal work motivated me to do a deeper dive into Primary Objects and Dominant Affects and the interactive 3 x 3 matrix that forms an explanation for the Enneagram types.

Join me for PowerPoint slides, discussion and experiential exercises to explore this fascinating theory about type structure and how to compassionately engage Object Relations patterns while learning to unhook from them.

Leveraging the Instincts for Higher Development

This teaching is a powerful and brilliant interweaving of how instincts arise developmentally and how we can integrate them in personal and practical ways to support the unfolding of our clients’ individual and unique expression of the higher levels of their Enneagram types. When we begin to allow and accept these body-based instinctual energies their power naturally moves us in the direction of growth.

Through this course you will:

  • Recognize each of the three instincts and how they operate in yourself and your clients.
  • Work with your clients to help them allow and integrate these instinctual drives for a balanced, fulfilled life.
  • Harness the power of the instincts for the work of transformative growth.
  • No prior experience with the Enneagram is needed.
