Training

I began teaching in my early 20’s when I discovered that other people shared my interests and wanted to know more.  Organizing material into a logical learning sequence and making key concepts understandable through clear language and relevant exercises is fun for me. My interests have changed but my love of teaching has not.

As senior faculty with The Deep Coaching Institute I teach the initial live retreat in the ten month Deep Coaching Certification program, training professionals in the Enneagram and a five step coaching methodology using somatic awareness and deep acceptance. In addition, I teach online classes and other live retreats for continuing education based on applications of the Enneagram, and professional development for Deep Coaching Practitioners.

In 1989 I discovered the Enneagram as a system for understanding personality typology as well as a guideline for ongoing personal and spiritual development. I have trained other professionals, interested lay people, and have worked with teams and organizations, using the Enneagram as a tool for self-awareness and communication. Over the years my clients have included corporations, universities, non-profits, and government agencies. My ongoing connections with the global Enneagram community are maintained through my long-standing membership and certification with the International Enneagram Association.

My teacher and friend Dr. Felicitas D. Goodman, a well-known anthropologist, discovered that the artwork of indigenous people around the world provides instruction for rituals that connect humans with the world of spirits. The method she developed uses the natural ability of the body’s nervous system to expand consciousness. I have taught Ritual Postures workshops using this method for over 30 years and I continue to publish books and teaching materials to support new teachers whom I am training throughout the world. Dr. Goodman’s work continues through The Cuyamungue Institute.
